Deanwood Primary School continues to be a “Good” school in their recent Ofsted inspection, maintaining their previous inspection result.
Deanwood Primary School joined The Howard Academy Trust in October 2016 and has served the Rainham community for many years.
Inspectors highlighted that "Pupils enjoy coming to school at Deanwood. This is clear in the positive ways that they interact with one another."
The report highlights how children within the Early Years at Deanwood get off to a strong start in their education. Inspectors said "Children in early years start their education strongly. Staff set clear and high expectations for what every child will learn, and this helps them to achieve well and be ready for the next stage of learning."
At Deanwood, we want our pupils to be “Happy, Successful and Safe”, and firmly believe that children who are feeling happy and safe in school will be keen to learn and will therefore be far more likely to make good progress both academically and emotionally.
Jane Wright, Principal at Deanwood Primary School said "We are absolutely overjoyed with the outcome of this inspection. It has been a challenging year for us at Deanwood following the sudden death of our Assistant Head last academic year. However, this outcome reflects the hard work that has been put in by all staff and the amazing resilience of the whole school community."
Owen McColgan, Chief Executive of The Howard Academy Trust said "I am delighted that the inspector recognised the fantastic work that takes place at Deanwood Primary School every day. Staff within the school are passionate about making sure that every child at Deanwood reaches their full potential."
