Deanwood Primary School

Welcome to Deanwood Primary School. Starting school is a most important time in your child's life and at Deanwood we aim to make it a great start. Being a smaller school helps us to create a happy, successful and safe environment in which to learn.

Deanwood is a community Primary School with a nursery provision. At present, there are 209 children on roll, organised into eight classes. A large percentage of our children join us at the age of 3 and leave at the end of Year 6. Deanwood joined the Howard Academy Trust on 1^st October 2016.

We recognise that a curriculum has to be broad, balanced and offer pupils opportunities to grow as individuals as well as learners. We also intend to offer our pupils new and exciting experiences through extra-curricular activities that are designed to build resilience, confidence and self-esteem.

At Deanwood we want everybody to be “Happy, Successful and Safe”. We aim to do this by promoting the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty

& mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
