Welcome to Deanwood Primary School. Starting school is a most important time in your child's life and at Deanwood we aim to make it a great start. Being a smaller school helps us to create a happy, successful and safe environment in which to learn.

Deanwood is a community Primary School with a nursery provision. At present, there are 209 children on roll, organised into eight classes. A large percentage of our children join us at the age of 3 and leave at the end of Year 6. Deanwood joined the Howard Academy Trust on 1st October 2016.
Our Curriculum
We recognise that a curriculum has to be broad, balanced and offer pupils opportunities to grow as individuals as well as learners. We also intend to offer our pupils new and exciting experiences through extra-curricular activities that are designed to build resilience, confidence and self-esteem.
Ethos & Values
At Deanwood we want everybody to be “Happy, Successful and Safe”. We aim to do this by promoting the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty
& mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

Mrs Wright, Mrs Daffin and Mrs Turner are unbelievably proud of the KS2 Choir who have just done their first performance to the whole school. It was lovely to see the whole school coming together in the hall (including some of our Nursery children and members of our PTA) to enjoy the music. The smiles on the faces of the children in the choir really showed how much they enjoyed it today. We are hopeful that we will be able to perform to friends and family in the not too distant future.
Today is a special day for the KS2 Choir as they will be doing their very first performance to the whole school this morning. They have been working really hard since September and we are certain that they will do an awesome job! Here are some pictures from last week's rehearsal. Don't forget that there is no rehearsal tonight!

Musician of the Month! We are now entering our final week of November's musician. Hildegard of Bingen may not have got us dancing like Stevie Wonder did but we have remained open minded and found that her music has helped us to relax. We wonder who December's musician will be?
